So my ex-coworker and friend David is coming over tonight. My son (Jonathan, age 5) has met him before, and so I was trying to tell him that David was coming over. Here's how that conversation went. I was a little surprised.
Me: Hey Jonathan, David is coming over tonight.
Jonathan: Who?
Me: David. He used to work with Daddy.
Jonathan: [Puzzled look, cocks his head to the side a little]
Me: He came here before.
Jonathan: No.
Me: He's the guy you said was "cool" the other day.
Jonathan: What shirt is he wearing?
At that point I just had to walk away, because I wasn't too sure how to respond :)
