Here is another piece from codex Hierosolymitanus. Question: Is this one of its Nomina Sacra or is it a ligature?
This is the word σωτηριας, found at the end of the first verse of 2 Clement. Anyone, anyone?
The answer is, it is one of the nomina sacra for this manuscript. How do you know? You know secondarily because it is a word that could be nominasacrilizable (yes, I think I just made that up), but primarily because of the horizontal line over the word. How about some more examples. Here is a snippet of the following text: περι Ιησου Χριστου ως περι θεου.
