I have not kept up with my Greek reading goals over the last couple of months, though many of my distractions have been worthy enough. It's not that I haven't done anything though! And there you were, thinking I was a total slouch... I have to finish the last two verses of chapter four of Pseudo-Apollodorus' Bibliotheka tonight to finish up my reading so I can start on my new schedule tomorrow. This work has introduced me to quite a bit of new vocabulary; reading Greek mythology is quite a bit of fun. If you're looking for something different to translate, it strikes me of medium difficulty and it has way too many names. But since names are easy to "translate", it makes the text go by faster!
A friend and I are going to take a lightning run through Athenaze I (we're not meeting; we're just working in tandem). Not the lightning type of run where you skip material to finish; nope, absorb and do everything! We'll be doing two chapters each week and we'll finish the second week (if I remember right) of August. I'll probably continue on to book II immediately when that one is over. Hopefully he will do the same.
The plan is to set aside Monday and Thursday nights for Athenaze nights. I'll be reviewing, memorizing, etc. the other days, but those will be my fake class days. I've worked through the first few chapters of the first edition before, so I think it is doable, though not easy. I'll let you know how it goes.

Well...hurry up! But, then again, texts in Greek have been sitting around for over 2000 years already. I guess you can wait a little before getting to them :)

I'd be very interested in your take on Athenaze. I read the first book but didn't find it overly helpful, other than seeing some biblical words doing their thing much earlier than the first century. I can't remember if I read book two. I have it but not sure I studied it.
Anyway, if you find something of interest, please pass it on. Maybe I overlooked some stuff.
