Some friends and I are reading through Augustine's On Christian Doctrine together. It's a pretty interesting volume. This week we met to discuss book 2 which had quite a bit to say about the Septuagint (LXX). For easy reference, here are some interesting quotes. So I decided to go ahead and start reading the book I got in the mail the other day, the pretty thin Voting About God in Early Church Councils
I just recently mentioned my book list from SBL. Today I got in the mail a book that looked very interesting that I had forgotten that I ordered at SBL.
I just realized that I never posted the books I bought at SBL. Well...I suppose now is the time!
Last night I watched our recorded "Scream Bloody Murder" by CNN, a show talking about a few genocides in recent history. The only part I watched was the part about Cambodia and it is worth watching (you can see when it is coming on again at that link above). Perhaps the rest is as well, though I must admit that I don't enjoy watching shows about genocide.
By popular demand (two people...which is popular demand in my book) I now bring you pics of my study. I am sorry if I provoke massive amounts of jealousy in your soul. It is definitely the best part of my house.

A Look at Codex 037

I am not sure if I have looked at codex GA 037, a.k.a codex Δ before. If I haven't, well, I have now. Bob Relyea pointed out on the TC newsgroup today that it is now available online. This is a part of the e-codices website, which you can see here. This particular manuscript can be found here. I am not entirely sure that this citation format is acceptable to the website owners (you can see the terms here) but I'll change it if they want. Many thanks to them, though, for putting the manuscript online!
